Challenge
The idea arose from the need to connect people who have animals for adoption with those who want to adopt them without relying solely on posting on social media or classified websites. The significant pain point for the user is the difficulty in actually finding animals for adoption.
Solution
We began by understanding the pain point, realizing that users needed something very practical and easy to use. We decided it would be an app and a website, with the main feature being to locate animals (caretakers) based on the distance from the interested adopter. After defining this, I conducted benchmarking research and gathered existing data to locate apps that already offered animal adoption services. I found many models, but all were quite flawed, lacking steps in the journey and agility in finalizing the adoption process. With this information, I moved on to the prototyping phase, intending to validate the ideas gathered through research. After validating the navigable prototype through internal testing and with some random external users, I proceeded to the layout and finalization phase. After additional testing and refinements, I finalized the handoff to the developers. The next phases would involve validations with A/B testing and some questionnaires via the app/email and interviews.
